A staging project we did in Lincoln MA is scheduled to close this Thursday. We are very proud of this project as the property is a grand old house with so much history and I am sure many of its own stories to tell. Stewart Young of LandVest called us in mid-March on behalf of the sellers who had weathered the downward slide of the market and price-reductions for over 18 months. When the house first went on the market the home owner’s furniture was still in place but as time went on, they moved and so went the furniture. So fast forward to March when BjtO Designs was called in to help.
We brought in 4 bedrooms worth of furniture, drapes, bedding and accessories. Five sofas for 4 living areas and a library were delivered. In addition 10 chairs, 6 coffee tables, 5 rugs, artwork, mirrors and a ton of table top decor were dispersed throughout the house. We accomplished this full staging in three days. Our mission was to help potential buyers figure out how they might use so many rooms. Four living areas plus a library with three entries was confusing. The house was built in the late 1700s and must have been considered quite grand as the original rooms are large. Then the various additions over the years added even more square footage and duplicate living space – totaling 7100 square feet. Oh, and we haven’t mentioned the carriage house/pool house with yes a pool but a very large office or work space with a to die for sleeping area upstairs.
The photo at the top of this blog is the garden room from this staging. We all found ourselves gazing out at the koi pond with the lovely gardens as a backdrop from the sofa in the center of this room. The home owner had a great sense of color and introduced us to the most wonderful shades of tangerine – on the wall opposite the gardens, up the stairway and again in one bedroom with a version in the master bathroom.
This was such a rewarding and fun staging project that we would like to share photos of the finished staging
